ESBU in the Kyiv region returns nearly UAH 9 million in unpaid VAT to the budget

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Kyiv region have secured the reimbursement of nearly UAH 9 million in damages to the state budget resulting from tax evasion.

The investigation established that officials of a company operating in the field of architecture and engineering evaded Value Added Tax on a large scale between 2022 and 2025.

While performing work for budgetary institutions, the enterprise concealed the actual amounts of funds received and failed to disclose them in tax reports.

As a result of these actions, more than UAH 8.9 million in VAT was not paid to the budget.

The pre-trial investigation was initiated based on an analytical product compiled by specialists from the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region. The amount of damage caused to the state was confirmed by the findings of a forensic economic evaluation.

The individual responsible for the company's financial transactions was served a notice of suspicion for committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (evasion of taxes, fees, or other mandatory payments).

ESBU detectives ensured the full reimbursement of the damages caused to the state by the enterprise. The funds have already been paid into the budget. The criminal proceedings regarding the suspect have been sent to court with a motion to release the individual from criminal liability.
