Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Odesa region have completed a pre-trial investigation into tax evasion. Over UAH 3.4 million was recovered to the state budget.

The pre-trial investigation identified a company that systematically won open tenders for construction works. The customers were state and municipal institutions of Odesa.

It was established that for almost a year the company included amounts of funds for "non-existent" financial and business transactions in the tax credit. This led to tax evasion.

An official of the company was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion). The indictment was sent to court. The amount of damage caused to the state was compensated in full.

The pre-trial investigation was carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Odesa region jointly with the Main department of the State Tax Service in Odesa region under the supervision of the Odesa regional prosecutor's office.

Recently, detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Poltava region secured the refund of over UAH 8 million of unpaid taxes to the state budget.
