Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Lviv region served a notice of suspicion to the former head of a village council for abuse of office and misappropriation of land.

The investigation established that the official and several certified private land surveyors by prior conspiracy, illegally changed the boundaries of settlements and the purpose of land.

The plots were transferred from state ownership to communal ownership and then approved for transfer to private ownership. They are currently under arrest.

The former chairman was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 2 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 364, Part 1 of Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department, operational support is provided by the Strategic Investigations Department in Lviv region of the State Department of Investigations of the National Police and procedural supervision is provided by the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
