Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv region completed a pre-trial investigation into the illegal trade in tobacco products.

The investigation established that during 2022-2023, a resident of Kyiv region organized the supply of counterfeit tobacco products to the territory of Kyiv region.

He sold the products in Obukhiv through controlled retail outlets.

During the investigation the detectives of the ESBU found and seized almost 10 thousand e-cigarettes without excise stamps, refill liquids, e-cigarette components and hookah tobacco.

The estimated value of the seized excisable goods is almost UAH 7 million.

The criminal was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine the indictment was sent to court.

Procedural supervision is carried out by prosecutors of the Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
