Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region in order to ensure compensation for the damages caused to the state, seized the real estate of an entrepreneur who is involved in criminal proceedings regarding tax evasion.

The total estimated value of real estate is UAH 24 million.

The investigation established that the entrepreneur was engaged in the sale of softwood sawdust and leased real estate. At the same time, evading the payment of taxes, he bought real estate in the territory of the Chernivtsi region.

Pretrial investigation in criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for in Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion, fees) are carried out by detectives of TD ESBU in Chernivtsi region under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Chernivtsi regional prosecutor's office.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
