Detectives of the Main Detective Unit of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine have uncovered the misuse of budget funds at a state-owned enterprise in Kyiv. The investigation concerns violations in the funding of coal mine liquidation works.
The investigation revealed that a former deputy general director of the state enterprise approved payments to a private company under contracts related to decommissioning activities. However, the company lacked the necessary workforce, machinery, and equipment required to perform such tasks.

Despite this, the official signed the certificates of completion, which contained significant irregularities. The documents included inflated work volumes and costs, leading to the unjustified extraction of funds from the state budget.
The total damage caused to the state exceeds two million hryvnias.
A court has found the former state enterprise official guilty of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (service negligence).
The pretrial investigation is ongoing, with authorities currently verifying the potential involvement of other officials from state enterprises and related entities.
The prosecution is being overseen by the Prosecutor General's Office.
