Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Lviv region together with the employees of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine handed over 331,000 packs of cigarettes to eight military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The total cost of shipped cigarettes is UAH 10 million.

The decision to donate the tobacco products for the needs of military personnel involved in combat missions was made by the Lychakiv district court of Lviv.

At the end of February detectives of the ESBU exposed a large-scale scheme of selling illegally manufactured tobacco products, including their smuggling abroad. The goods were seized during searches in a warehouse in Zakarpattia region.

Detectives of the Territorial Department ESBU in Lviv region served a notice of suspicion to the offender for organizing and selling illegally manufactured tobacco products.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings on the grounds of the criminal offense provided for in Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excise goods). Procedural management is carried out by the Lviv regional prosecutor's office.
