ESBU detectives secured the recovery of UAH 4.5 million in unpaid taxes

 Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Vinnytsia region have completed a pre-trial investigation into a case of intentional tax evasion by a local farm. UAH 4.5 million has been recovered for the state.

The investigation established that the head of the agricultural enterprise intentionally understated Value Added Tax (VAT) liabilities. This was achieved by including transactions for the purchase of fertilizers and crop protection products in tax reporting that were not supported by primary documentation.

Furthermore, the enterprise failed to pay personal income tax and the military fee on employee wages, as well as on rental payments for the use of land parcels (shares).

The total amount of unpaid taxes exceeds UAH 4.5 million.

Criminal proceedings were registered for the intentional evasion of taxes in significant amounts (under Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

During the pre-trial investigation, the head of the farm fully compensated for the damages caused. The proceedings have been referred to court with a motion to release the individual from criminal liability.

The Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing prosecutorial supervision.
