posted 20 February 2023 17:30

The organization of interaction and cooperation for the improvement of the state sanctions policy, the activation of the exchange of operational information within the limits of the defined powers are the issues that were discussed at the meeting of the Head of the NSDC of Ukraine Andriy Ziuz and the Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine Vadym Melnyk.

For the practical implementation of the exchange of information aimed at improving the sanctions policy in Ukraine the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

The leadership of the ESBU and the National Security Council agreed to conduct joint research and analysis in the field of strengthening the sanctions policy, exchange information related to the implementation and monitoring of its effectiveness and other information.

"With the help of the Memorandum of Cooperation we will be able to more effectively apply, change or cancel sanctions restrictions, as well as cooperate in matters of forced seizure in Ukraine of objects of property rights of the russian federation and its residents.

At the same time, the document provides for the creation of joint working groups and advisory, expert associations for the development of proposals for concepts and strategies in the area of sanctions.

I am convinced that this cooperation will be effective and will have significant results for the protection of state interests", said the Director of the ESBU, Vadym Melnyk.

We will remind, within the framework of pre-trial investigations of criminal proceedings, detectives of the ESBU seized assets, property and other tangible assets of companies directly or indirectly related to citizens of the russian federation and the republic of belarus with a total value of over UAH 41 billion.

In accordance with court rulings on the transfer of property and relevant letters of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, a decision was made and the process of transferring property and assets seized in 2022 to ARMA in the amount of more than UAH 40 billion is underway. In addition, the state budget already receives income from the assets of the russian federation and the rebublic of belarus . Thus, JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" received UAH 1.7 billion in revenue from the commercial use of seized railway wagons and containers that belonged to russian and belarus companies.

The Agency for Search and Management of Assets - ARMA has already sold the ammonia previously seized by detectives of the ESBU for a total amount of more than UAH 910 million. Of these in order to transfer these funds for the needs of the Armed Forces as quickly as possible, military bonds worth UAH 600 million have already been purchased.
