Over the course of a week the detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU and the Kyiv region exposed and stopped the activities of 6 establishments in which illegal activities in the field of gambling business were carried out.

As part of the pre-trial investigation the circumstances of illegal activities related to the organization and conduct of gambling in the territory of the Kyiv and the Kyiv region are being investigated.

The investigation established that gambling establishments worked for a long time without creating a legal entity and, accordingly, without paying taxes. Gaming halls were located mainly on the first floors of residential buildings and in separate MAFs. Illegal services were provided around the clock, thus violating the curfew. Such illegal activity led to the non-receipt of funds to the budget in particularly large amounts.

ESBU employees on the basis of the decisions of the district court of the Kyiv, conducted searches in the Shevchenkivskyi, Solomyanskyi, Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi districts of the capital.

As a result of the searches, 57 system units, 73 monitors, 56 monoblocks, 70 sets of computer equipment and other technical means and material assets used in illegal activities were seized. Currently the assessment of the damage caused to the state and seized property is ongoing. The seized goods and material values are attached to the case as an evidentiary basis.

Players were also in some institutions. ESBU employees called the police to draw up reports under Article 181 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings, based on the signs of criminal offenses provided for in Part 1 of Art. 203-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal activity of organizing or conducting gambling games, lotteries) is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Kyiv and the Kyiv region under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
