Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv region sent to court an indictment against a resident of Kyiv region for illegal manufacture and sale of excisable goods.

The investigation established that the resident of Kyiv region organized the illegal production of alcoholic beverages and other alcohol-containing products.

He purchased raw materials and used special equipment to ensure a full production cycle in a private house.

The counterfeit products were poured into tetrapaks and plastic containers under the guise of well-known brands and sold in large quantities to trusted customers.

Employees of the ESBU seized almost 12 thousand liters of counterfeit alcohol. They also seized equipment, containers, additives, flavors, etc. In addition, during the searches, 6.4 thousand cigarettes without excise tax stamps were found and seized. The estimated value of the seized products and property is UAH 2.5 million.

At present the person involved in the criminal proceedings was served a notice of suspicion under Part 1 and Part 2 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation with intent to sell excisable goods) the indictment was sent to court.

Procedural supervision was provided by prosecutors of the Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
