Changed land location and registered it into private ownership: ESBU exposed a land scheme worth over UAH 9 million

 Over UAH 9.2 million in damages was caused to the local community as a result of the illegal withdrawal of three land plots from communal ownership. Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Zakarpattia region have notified the head of one of the departments of a village council in Uжhorod Rayon of suspicion.

The investigation established that the official, abusing his official position, facilitated the illegal formation of three land plots.

To implement the scheme, archival decisions of the village council were utilized. On this basis, the land plots were formed in a location different from the one provided for by the initial land management documentation. Subsequently, their actual location was altered in the cadastral system and registered into private ownership.

As a result of the unlawful actions of the officials, the land plots were illegally withdrawn from communal ownership, causing damages to the community amounting to over UAH 9 million.

The official has been notified of suspicion of abuse of official position and official forgery that caused severe consequences (Part 2 of Article 364, Part 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

To prevent further alienation of the land plots, the court, upon the petition of the prosecution, placed an arrest (seizure) on the specified property.

The pretrial investigation is ongoing. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
