Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in the Poltava region completed the case against a Kharkiv resident seized with counterfeit cigarettes worth UAH 25 million.

The investigation established that the man purchased falsified tobacco products without the appropriate permit for further sale. The goods were stored in rented boxes of the garage cooperative.

During the authorized searches, detectives seized cigarettes worth more than UAH 25 million from the accused.

The materials of the pre-trial investigation with the indictment have been sent to the court.

The man faces punishment in the form of a fine of five to ten thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens with confiscation and destruction of illegally manufactured goods.

The pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the Security Intelligence Service in the Poltava region.
