Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Chernivtsi region completed a pre-trial investigation into the facts of fraud involving financial resources. The indictment against three persons has been sent to the court.

The investigation established that since February 2023, three residents of the Chernivtsi region deliberately evaded customs payments during the importation of 13 vehicles from the European Union. The extras declared the cars as humanitarian aid while they were actually importing them for sale.

The amount of damages caused to the state is UAH 2.2 million.

Currently 3 persons involved have been notified of the suspicion of committing a criminal offense under Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 3 of Art. 28, Part 2 of Art. 222 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The indictment was sent to the court.

Operative support in the criminal proceedings was carried out by the employees of the Ukrainian SSU in Chernivtsi region of the DSR of the State Police of Ukraine.
