A famous basketball club from Dnipro reimbursed over 9.8 million UAH of unpaid land rent

 The company representing a famous basketball club from Dnipro paid over 9.8 million UAH of unpaid land rent for a land plot following an investigation by detectives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine. The funds entered the budget as reimbursement of taxes and fees unpaid due to the understatement of declared indicators, as well as damage caused to the state by their untimely payment.

The investigation established that officials of the company during 2017–2022 understated the declared indicators of rent for a land plot of communal property in the city of Dnipro. As a result, more than 9.8 million UAH did not enter the budget.

During the pretrial investigation, ESBU detectives obtained a conclusion of a forensic economic examination, which confirmed the fact of understatement of the rent amount and the sum of unpaid funds.

After conducting the necessary procedural measures, the enterprise fully paid over 9.8 million UAH of land rent and reimbursed the damage caused to the state.

In connection with the full reimbursement of damages, ESBU detectives referred a motion to the court to exempt the former director of the company from criminal liability.

The pretrial investigation was carried out under part 3 of article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional evasion of payment of taxes, fees (mandatory payments), which led to the actual non-receipt of funds into the budget in particularly large amounts).
