The illegal transportation of a large batch of tobacco products without excise tax stamps to an international checkpoint was exposed in the Lviv region. A man who transported the cigarettes for the purpose of further sale was notified of suspicion by detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Lviv region.
The investigation established that the suspect illegally acquired 6,470 packs of cigarettes without excise tax stamps of the established design with a total value of about 700,000 UAH. Subsequently, the man transported the illegal products to the "Shehyni-Medyka" international automobile checkpoint of the "Mostyska" customs post of the Lviv Customs for the purpose of their further sale.
The illegal activity of the suspect was stopped, and the batch of cigarettes was seized.

The man was notified of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition, storage, and transportation for sale of exciseable goods).
The pretrial investigation is ongoing. Detectives are establishing the origin of the illegal products, their supply channels, and the full circle of persons involved in the unlawful activity.
Procedural guidance is carried out by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. Operational support was provided by the Lviv Customs.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
