Analysts of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau in the Kyiv region prevented the embezzlement of UAH 2.4 million earmarked for the restoration of the region's medical infrastructure. Funding is provided under the Ukraine Recovery Programme with the support of the European Investment Bank.
During the analysis of tender documentation, specialists identified a risk of inflated costs for core construction materials specified in the budget estimates.
The ESBU informed the fund manager of the identified risks and recommended a review of the decision regarding the procurement of capital repair services for the building.
Following this, the customer terminated the contract with the contractor and re-announced the procurement procedure. It is currently in the final stage of awarding a contract to the selected participant.
Thanks to the response of ESBU analysts and the cooperation of the Kyiv Regional State Administration leadership, the inefficient use of funds allocated for the medical facility's repair was successfully prevented.
According to the results of 2025, the analytical unit of the Territorial Office of the ESBU prepared and submitted 128 recommendations to state authorities. Their implementation ensured the prevention of inefficient budget spending totaling over UAH 266 million.
