The presentation and validation of the gender audit report at the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine took place during a final meeting organized by UN Women with the support of the Government of Sweden. The discussion was joined by the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, Kateryna Levchenko, the Head of the Office of the Government Commissioner for Gender Policy, Nadiia Zosim, the UN Women Representative in Ukraine, Sabine Freizer Gunes, the UN Women expert team in Ukraine, and employees of the ESBU and its Territorial Offices. The event was also attended by the Coordinator for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, as well as the prevention and combating of gender-based violence at the ESBU, and Yuriy Bielousov, Deputy Director for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization at the ESBU.

The gender audit was conducted over the course of a year within the Central Office and Territorial Offices of the ESBU. The audit was carried out by the UN Women project "Transformative approaches to achieving gender equality in Ukraine" with the support of the Government of Sweden and in partnership with the ESBU.

The report recorded key findings regarding the internal processes of the ESBU, personnel approaches, organizational culture, and management practices. The analysis confirmed that the institution has significant potential for forming a modern, inclusive, and safe working environment. Among employees, there is a readiness for open dialogue, which creates favorable conditions for the further development of the policy of equal rights and opportunities.

One of the key results of the audit was the preparation of the Roadmap for development until 2028 — a comprehensive plan for integrating a gender approach into the work of the ESBU. The document contains a set of measures aimed at strengthening non-discriminatory personnel selection procedures, developing mentorship, ensuring a safe and supportive environment, and improving approaches to communications and monitoring. The implementation of the Roadmap will be under constant control, as its realization is an important stage in strengthening the institutional capacity of the ESBU and moving closer to European management standards.

The participants noted that the audit results confirm the sustainable development of the institution and the movement of the ESBU towards a model of a state body focused on transparency, accountability, and respect for the rights of every female and male employee.
