Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region have completed a pre-trial investigation into the illegal production and sale of counterfeit alcohol products of well-known brands.
The investigation established that a resident of the Kharkiv region organized the illegal manufacture, storage, and sale of counterfeit alcoholic beverages disguised as products of world-famous trademarks.
To achieve this, he established supply channels for raw materials and packaging, including tetra-packs, cardboard boxes with the branding of famous trademarks, plastic containers of various volumes, ethyl alcohol, dyes, and flavorings.
The sale of counterfeit goods was conducted through specialized channels on messaging apps and web resources, with delivery handled via mail.
During investigative actions, ESBU detectives, in cooperation with cyber police officers, seized finished counterfeit products, raw materials, packaging, and equipment.
The suspect has been notified of suspicion under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale, or transportation with the intent to sell excisable goods). The indictment has been sent to court.
Operational support was provided by the Cyber Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine. Procedural guidance was provided by prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
