Deputy Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, Andrii Pashchuk, held a meeting with Vadym Pielykh, Head of the “Non-Metallic Subsoil Resources of Ukraine” Association, and Roman Lytvynov, a human rights advocate from the NGO “Stop Corruption.”
During the meeting, the participants discussed the specifics of regulating subsoil use and the extraction of mineral resources, as well as the work of the Bureau’s analysts in preparing proposals for legislative amendments and submitting relevant recommendations to the specialized committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Finance.
In addition, the parties addressed future cooperation between the Association and the ESBU, which will include joint regulatory initiatives, strategic sessions with experts, and operational information sharing, among other forms of collaboration.
It is worth noting that recently, detectives from the Main Detectives Unit of the ESBU uncovered officials of a company involved in large-scale tax evasion related to subsoil use fees. The company specializes in granite extraction and crushed stone production at a deposit located in Kyiv region.
