Analysts of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv region have foreseen the waste of over 6 million UAH from the local budget during the tender for capital repairs of the road.

Based on the results of the information and analytical work, the employees of the Territorial Department established that the officials of the local self-government body in Kyiv region concluded an agreement to carry out works on the capital repair of the road. Officials were going to spend more than UAH 6 million on this.

Bureau specialists analyzed the market prices for construction materials specified in the estimate and found out that their price is significantly overstated. So, for example, the cost of the gravel-sand mixture was overstated by 140 percent and the poles for street lighting by 234 percent.

Analysts of the Territorial Department recommended that the local self-government body reconsider the decision on the purchase of relevant services. Thanks to the measures taken the customer terminated the contract with the general contractor.

In this way, employees of the ESBU prevented the embezzlement of more than UAH 6 million from the local budget.
