Students of the National Academy of Internal Affairs visited the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine

As part of the educational and practical cooperation between the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine and the National Academy of Internal Affairs, the 2nd year students of the Educational and Research Institute of Law and Psychology visited the central office of the ESBU.

Future law and law enforcement professionals had the opportunity to see how ESBU works and communicates with its employees.

Oleksii Drozd, Head of the ESBU Department, spoke about the main areas of the Bureau's work, its structure and mechanisms for detecting and combating economic crimes.

In his turn, Vitalii Areshonkov, representative of the Information Analysis and Risk Management Department, demonstrated how the ESBU analysts work with large amounts of data, use IT solutions to identify suspicious financial transactions, analyse public procurement, etc.

In addition, representatives of the Main Detective Unit Oleksii Diduk and Volodymyr Stasenko spoke about high-profile cases involving tax evasion, fictitious entrepreneurship, embezzlement of budget funds and financial fraud in public procurement.

The students also learnt about the specifics of collecting evidence and the peculiarities of documenting economic crimes in the current environment.
