A resident of the Kyiv region will stand trial for the large-scale sale of illegal alcohol, tobacco, and e-cigarettes. The total value of the counterfeit products seized from him reaches over 2.1 million UAH.
To sell the counterfeit goods, the man established several channels. He sold part of the products without proper excise stamps in retail outlets in Kyiv and the region and also accepted orders through social networks, sending packages across the entire country.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized batches of tobacco products and hundreds of liters of counterfeit alcohol, as well as cash, mobile phones, rough records, and a vehicle.
The suspect was notified of suspicion of committing a criminal offense provided for by Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacturing, storage, sale, or transportation for sale of exciseable goods). The indictment has been sent to court.
Procedural guidance is carried out by prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
