Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in Kyiv have uncovered a scheme for the illegal importation of household goods from the People's Republic of China into the customs territory of Ukraine. Their estimated value exceeds UAH 7.5 million.
The indictment has been sent to court.
The investigation established that the director of a company organized the movement of a container of goods across the customs border by concealing them from customs control. The goods were imported from the People's Republic of China under a contract with a foreign company.
Forged documents and information containing false data, particularly regarding the calculation of customs duties, were submitted to the customs authority.
During a search at the «Vyshneve» Kyiv customs post, ESBU detectives discovered a container filled with household goods imported in violation of customs legislation.
The estimated value of the smuggled items is over UAH 7.5 million.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, the company director was served a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of the Art. 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of goods committed by an official using their official position).
The indictment, along with a plea bargain agreement, has been submitted to the Solomianskyi District Court of Kyiv.
