In the Lviv region, a local resident will stand trial for illegally storing and selling e-cigarette liquids without excise tax stamps. The pre-trial investigation was completed by detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
The investigation established that the suspect, acting out of greed, illegally stored and sold e-cigarette liquids for several months. The excisable goods lacked state-approved excise tax stamps, which is a requirement for legal sale in Ukraine.
The illegal activity lasted from December 2024 to March 2025. During the pre-trial investigation, ESBU detectives documented instances of storing and selling illegally manufactured excisable goods.
The woman was notified of suspicion for committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal purchase, storage for the purpose of sale, and sale of illegally manufactured excisable goods).
The indictment has now been sent to court.
Procedural guidance was provided by prosecutors of the Lviv Regional Prosecutor's Office. Operational support was handled by the Strategic Investigations Department in the Lviv Region of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.
As a reminder, according to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
