Representatives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine spoke to students in the Lviv region about combating economic crimes. In particular, they discussed practical work tools—from risk identification to blocking shadow financial flows. This format was used for a series of meetings with youth at leading higher education institutions in Lviv.
The events took place at Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Ukrainian Catholic University, and Lviv State University of Internal Affairs.
During the meetings, ESBU staff presented the Bureau's key areas of activity, outlined current challenges in economic security, and explained how the system for combating economic offenses operates. The detective component was supported by practical cases—from uncovering schemes to documenting them and bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Special attention was paid to the analytical component. The discussion covered the role of data in risk identification, the analysis of financial flows, and the importance of critical thinking. It is analytics that allows for proactive action and the prevention of economic crimes.
Students were also informed about opportunities for internships, practical training, selection criteria, and prospects for future employment at the ESBU. The requirements for candidates and the skills that need to be developed during their studies were discussed separately.
The meetings were held in an open dialogue format, featuring questions, practical examples, and direct communication.
Such initiatives form a new generation of specialists who already understand how the economic protection system works. By raising awareness among the youth and involving them in combating shadow schemes, the ESBU is investing in a strong and resilient economic security for the state. Efforts in this direction are ongoing.
We thank the higher education institutions for their openness to cooperation and proactive stance, and the students for their interest, meaningful questions, and readiness to contribute to the protection of the country's economy.
