Detectives of the ESBU Territorial Department in Volyn region detained a truck with more than 15,000 disposable electronic smoking devices without excise stamps in one of the region centres.

The vehicle with illegally manufactured excisable goods was detected at the time of unloading, near the premises of a postal operator's office. The driver of the vehicle did not have any documents on the origin and quality of the cargo. The e-cigarettes of well-known brands were planned to be distributed via postal services.

The vehicle and illegally produced e-cigarettes were seized. The estimated value of the seized cigarettes is UAH 8 million.

The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings on the grounds of committing a criminal offence stipulated by Part 1, Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal purchase with intent to sell or storage for this purpose, as well as sale or transportation with intent to sell illegally produced tobacco products) is being conducted by detectives of the ESBU Department in Volyn region under the procedural guidance of prosecutors of the Volyn Region Prosecutor's Office.
