ESBU in the Lviv region ensures recovery of over UAH 8 million to the budget in the tax evasion case

 Over UAH 8 million was recovered for the state budget within criminal proceedings regarding tax evasion by a pharmacy chain in the Lviv region. The investigation was conducted by detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Lviv region.

The basis for initiating the pretrial investigation was an analytical product from the Department of Information Analysis and Risk Management of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Lviv region. During the analysis of the company's financial and economic activity, specialists detected signs of a criminal offense.

The investigation established that an official of the enterprise, responsible for accounting and tax reporting, intentionally understated the company's tax liabilities during 2023–2024. The reporting documentation failed to reflect the actual amounts of taxes that the enterprise was required to pay on employee wages and generated profit.

As a result of these actions, the state budget lost out on over UAH 8 million.

During the pretrial investigation, the suspect admitted her guilt and fully reimbursed the damages caused to the state before being brought to criminal responsibility. The funds have already been transferred to the budget.

The materials of the criminal proceedings were sent to the court along with a motion to release the individual from criminal liability due to the full reimbursement of the damages caused.

The procedural oversight was provided by prosecutors of the Lviv Oblast Prosecutor's Office.
