Detectives of the Territorial Department of the Economic Security Bureau in Kyiv region sent an indictment to the court against a resident of Kyiv region for the illegal sale of tobacco products through the Telegram channel.

The investigation established that the supply of illegally manufactured tobacco products was organized by a local resident. The man published information about the assortment of counterfeit products in the Telegram channel and made deliveries throughout Ukraine.

As a result of the searches more than 9,000 electronic cigarettes, 2,000 containers with liquids for them about 1,500 refills and more than 600 packs of hookah tobacco were seized.

The total estimated value of products seized from illegal circulation is UAH 6.7 million.

Currently the person involved in the criminal proceedings has been notified of the suspicion under Part 1 and Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation for the purpose of sale of excise goods) the indictment was referred to the court.

Procedural management is carried out by prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
