Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine is expanding international communications on combating economic crimes.
Today, on July 07 in Chernivtsi, Acting Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine Eduard Fedorov met with consul General of Romania Iryna-Loredana Stenculescu. During the meeting the parties discussed the possibilities of establishing cooperation between the Bureau and other competent Romanian authorities operating within the scope of the ESBU's authority (customs, cyber police, audit authorities, etc.).
In particular they discussed the prospects of exchanging intelligence and conducting joint investigations of economic crimes with the Romanian National Agency for Fiscal Administration (ANAF). They also discussed the establishment of joint channels for information exchange and training for employees of the ESBU on ANAF's cases of economic fraud.
During the meeting, the main activities of the International training center for Economic Security of Mariupol State University were presented and the possibilities of involving this initiative in the cooperation of the Bureau with the ANAF were considered.
The parties agreed to sign a Memorandum of strategic partnership and cooperation between the ESBU and the competent authorities of Romania in the near future. This will allow for ongoing communication and information exchange with representatives of the relevant EU authorities investigating economic crimes.
