Driver's license for 400 US dollars: ESBU completed an investigation into three Volyn residents who forged documents

 In Volyn, three individuals who manufactured and sold state-issued documents will stand trial. They made fake driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates using official holographic security elements. Detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Volyn region completed the pre-trial investigation and sent the case to court.

According to the investigation, a resident of the Lutsk district organized the illegal activity. He set up a workspace at home with the necessary equipment to forge driver's licenses and vehicle registration certificates. The investigation also established that the suspect illegally bought and stored holographic security elements, which he used to manufacture the documents.

The man brought two accomplices into the scheme. They searched for potential clients, collected the necessary data from them, and delivered the finished licenses and certificates. The price for one fake driver's license ranged from 300 to 400 US dollars.

During the searches, law enforcement officers seized fake documents, manufacturing equipment, laminating tapes, protective films, cash in local and foreign currencies, and other items that prove the illegal activity.

The main suspect was notified of suspicion under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (storage, acquisition, and sale of illegally obtained holographic security elements) and under Part 3 of Article 358 (forgery and sale of official documents committed repeatedly by a group of persons upon prior conspiracy). His two accomplices were notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 358 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation is complete, and the indictments along with plea bargain agreements have been sent to the court.

Operational support was provided by employees of the Department of Internal Security of the National Police of Ukraine. Prosecutorial guidance was provided by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office.
