The director of a construction company, who intentionally evaded paying 10.6 million UAH in VAT, has fully reimbursed the damages caused to the state.
Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Odesa region established that during 2023–2024, the enterprise performed construction works and supplied concrete structures, in particular reinforced concrete anti-tank barriers ("dragon's teeth").
Among the customers was the Department of Capital Construction and Road Management of the Odesa Regional State Administration. Nearly 63.8 million UAH was received into the company's accounts for the completed works and supplied products.

At the same time, the director of the enterprise did not reflect a part of the received funds in the tax reporting and understated the tax obligations for VAT. As a result, 10.6 million UAH did not enter the state budget.
During the pretrial investigation, the man admitted his guilt and, before being notified of suspicion, fully paid the unpaid taxes, reimbursing the damage caused to the state.
Taking into account the full reimbursement of damages, in accordance with Part 4 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the prosecutor of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office sent a motion to the court to release the suspect from criminal liability and close the criminal proceedings. The final decision will be made by the court.
