Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Zakarpattia region completed a pre-trial investigation into an organized group of people who manufactured and sold alcoholic beverages of a well-known cognac producer using counterfeit excise stamps of Ukraine.

It was established that during 2022-2023, residents of Uzhhorod illegally manufactured and sold counterfeit alcohol of a well-known brand in the city of Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia and other regions of Ukraine.

As a result of the searches, the detectives of the ESBU seized counterfeit alcoholic beverages worth about UAH 1.5 million.

In September this year, the organizer and two accomplices were served a notice of suspicion of committing criminal offenses stipulated by Part 1 Art. 199, Part 3 Art. 28, Part 1, 2 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

At present, the guilt of the accused has been fully proven. According to the court's verdict, the illegally manufactured products, production tools and raw materials for their manufacture will be destroyed.
