Experts of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine have detected cases of mass email distribution by unidentified individuals from third-party email addresses, falsely claiming to be from the ESBU.
These emails are being sent to businesses, institutions, and organizations. They contain notices regarding a documentary audit of the enterprise and a demand to provide constituent, financial, and tax documents.
The fake official letterheads feature fabricated reference numbers, names of ESBU employees, and contact information.
These emails include archives and attachments that the recipient is prompted to download or open to access electronic forms or additional information.
Please be advised that the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine has not issued any orders for the distribution of such letters and does not send electronic requests to business entities demanding constituent, financial, or tax documents in this manner.
If you receive such emails, please do not open any attachments, download files, or provide any documents or information in response.
We emphasize that all employees of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine use official email addresses exclusively from the @esbu.gov.ua domain, and official letters are signed using a qualified electronic signature.
We recommend ignoring such emails and reporting them to the Cyberpolice Department of the National Police of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine.
The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine is taking the necessary measures to clarify all circumstances and has already contacted the competent law enforcement agencies.
