An expert group of the ESBU and the Business Ombudsman Council discussed business appeals regarding pre-trial investigations

 A regular meeting of the Expert Group, established under the Memorandum of Cooperation between the ESBU and the Business Ombudsman Council, was held at the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the participants reviewed five appeals from businesses regarding pre-trial investigations in criminal proceedings that had been submitted to the Business Ombudsman Council. They discussed compliance with procedural deadlines, the execution of court rulings, the return of temporarily seized property, the justification for conducting investigative actions, and other issues related to protecting the rights of business entities.

"The task of the ESBU is to effectively investigate economic crimes while simultaneously ensuring compliance with the rights and legitimate interests of businesses. Open dialogue with the Business Ombudsman Council helps not only to review specific appeals but also to prevent the occurrence of similar situations in the future," noted Deputy Director of the ESBU Pavlo Buzdyhan.

From the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, the meeting was attended by Deputy Director of the ESBU Pavlo Buzdyhan and acting head of the Main Department of Detectives Kostiantyn Ovcharov.

The Business Ombudsman Council was represented by Deputy Business Ombudsman Yulia Andrusiv and investigators Tetiana Mykulska, Andrii Bodnarchuk, and Ivan Kucher.

The Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine continues its work to ensure that interaction with business is transparent, understandable, and directed toward protecting the rights of honest entrepreneurs.
