Almost 80 million UAH of income without taxes: an ex-head of a construction company will be tried in Poltava

 The former director, concurrently serving as the chief accountant of a construction company from Poltava, will stand trial on charges of intentional evasion of paying over 13 million UAH in taxes. The enterprise concealed part of the income received from the execution of repair and construction works for almost four years. In addition, during a search, unregistered ammunition was discovered in the suspect's possession.

Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Poltava region established that the company performed works for educational and medical institutions. During this time, almost 80 million UAH was received into the accounts of the enterprise, but these funds were not reflected in the tax records.

As the investigation established, the former head intentionally did not prepare and register tax invoices in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices. This allowed the enterprise to significantly understate its tax obligations.

As a result of such actions, the state budget missed out on over 13 million UAH.

During authorized searches, detectives seized rough accounting records, seals, and computer equipment. Cartridges stored without an appropriate permit were also discovered in the residence of the former director.

The man is charged with intentional tax evasion on an especially large scale (under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) as well as illegal acquisition and storage of ammunition (under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The pretrial investigation has been completed. The indictment has been sent to court.

Procedural guidance is carried out by the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office. Operational support is provided by the Department of Strategic Investigations in the Poltava region of the DSI of the NPU.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
