Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Volyn region completed a pre-trial investigation into the storage and sale of illegally manufactured tobacco products. The indictment was sent to court.

It has been established that a resident of Volyn region without the appropriate permits for the storage and sale of tobacco products, in October 2023 ordered 5,300 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps online for resale.

During the inspection of the suspect's car near the Nova Poshta branch in Kovel district the ESBU found and seized illegally manufactured cigarettes of various well-known manufacturers. The total value of the seized goods is almost half a million hryvnias.

The offender was served a notice of suspicion of committing a criminal offense stipulated by Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal manufacture, storage, sale or transportation with intent to sell excisable goods).

The pre-trial investigation under Part 1 Art. 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is completed.
