A resident of the Chernivtsi region will stand trial for the illegal acquisition, storage for the purpose of sale, and distribution of illegally manufactured diesel fuel. Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Chernivtsi region have completed the pre-trial investigation and forwarded the indictment to the court.
The investigation established that the suspect organized the sale of counterfeit fuel through a gas station in the Dnistrovskyi district. Purchasing raw materials of unknown origin at deflated prices from unidentified individuals, he resold them to residents. Transactions with clients were conducted without reflecting the operations in accounting and tax records.

ESBU detectives conducted controlled purchases of the diesel fuel. Based on the results of forensic evaluations, it was established that the seized samples did not comply with the requirements of state standards.
During authorized searches, law enforcement officers seized counterfeit fuel, rough records, financial and economic documentation, and mobile phones.
The man is charged with committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 204 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal acquisition for sale, storage for this purpose, as well as the sale of illegally manufactured fuel).

Operational support was provided by the officers of the SSU Office in the Chernivtsi region. The prosecution was supervised by the Chernivtsi Regional Prosecutor's Office.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
