The organizer of an illegal scheme for importing luxury vehicles attempted to legalize a collectible 1976 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II in Ukraine using fictitious documents.
Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region notified the man of suspicion of committing smuggling, and the expensive rare car was seized and impounded by a court decision.
The investigation established that the suspect developed a channel for the illegal import of cars, hoping to bypass mandatory customs procedures and control.

The main document on the basis of which the car was imported across the state border of Ukraine was a forged certificate of conformity.
It contained unreliable information that the vehicle had passed the individual approval procedure and complied with the established technical requirements.
The appointed forensic examination confirmed the fact of the falsification of the papers. Experts established that the provided document was not issued by authorized state institutions at all and contains completely unreliable data.
By the ruling of the Solomianskyi District Court of the city of Kyiv, an arrest has been imposed on the seized Rolls-Royce. The actions of the suspect are qualified under Part 1 of Article 201-4 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of excisable goods).
The pretrial investigation is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region in cooperation with the Kyiv Customs.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict.
