According to the materials of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine, 11.8 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers of Russian and Belarusian production were seized. The estimated cost of production is almost UAH 100 million.

The mineral fertilizers belongs to the foreign companies "Uralkali" and "Belaruskali" and was discovered in 170 wagons that were on the territory of the Specialized Sea Port in Mykolaiv, which is part of the business structure of the sanctioned oligarch Dmytro Firtash.

The investigation established that wagons with fertilizers were brought to Ukraine even before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and were in the "transit" mode. The ESBU detectives also established that the sale of fertilizers was taking place on the territory of Ukraine without the appropriate reflection in the tax reporting and payment of taxes. This caused the actual non-receipt of funds in the amount of more than UAH 10 million to the budget.

The owners of the cargo also planned to ship it to third countries.

So far, the goods and material values have been seized. The confiscated property will be handed over to the National Agency for Identification, Search and Management of Assets Obtained from Corruption and Other Crimes (ARMA).

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (tax evasion, fees), is carried out by the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine and the procedural leadership of the Prosecutor General's Office. All the circumstances of the crime and the full range of involved persons are established.

Note: in accordance with Art. 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until his guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court verdict.
