Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Kyiv region have transferred 43 tons of synthetic rubber belonging to a sanctioned company to the management of ARMA. The raw material was seized during an attempt to import it into Ukraine using forged documents.
The investigation established that the raw material was actually manufactured at the production facilities of an Iranian company whose head office is located in Moscow. To conceal the true origin of the goods during importation, Turkey was declared as the origin instead of Iran.
The goods were imported using the credentials of Ukrainian enterprises and a foreign company from the Czech Republic. During the customs inspection of two batches declared as polybutadiene rubber of Turkish origin, customs officials discovered "IR" (Iran) markings on the pallets, as well as barcodes from the Iranian manufacturer.
ESBU detectives established that the manufacturing company specializes in petrochemical products, specifically synthetic rubber. Its production facilities are located directly in Iran, while the company maintains an office in moscow and is currently under U.S. sanctions.
The seized raw material, valued at over UAH 12.7 million, has been transferred to ARMA management for subsequent sale, with the proceeds to be remitted to the state budget.
The pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 201-3 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (smuggling of goods) is being conducted by detectives from the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Kyiv region, in cooperation with Kyiv Customs officers.
Procedural oversight in the case is provided by the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
