In Odesa, the organizers of an illegal scheme that sold gold jewelry, precious items, and accessories branded with world-famous luxury labels will face trial. The counterfeit goods were sold through a network of retail stores located in major shopping malls. Detectives from the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Odesa region have submitted an indictment to the court against two individuals who had established a full-cycle production and sales operation for counterfeit jewelry.

The investigation began after a representative of the trademark owner filed an official complaint with the Territorial Office, reporting that a group of individuals was illegally using the world-renowned jewelry company's logo. Selling fake products under the guise of the official brand causes exceptionally large-scale financial damage to the legitimate trademark owners.
Detectives established that the illegal business operated out of its own workshop, while the products were sold through a formally registered store inside a shopping mall.

The scheme was organized by a 57-year-old Odesa resident registered as an entrepreneur whose primary business activity was listed as "Jewelry Manufacturing." The man set up a jewelry workshop in a residential property in Odesa, where gold and silver were used to manufacture jewelry that illegally bore the trademarks of well-known brands.
He involved a 50-year-old Odesa woman in the illegal activity. Together, they established a sales network for the counterfeit jewelry through a specialized store in one of the city's shopping and entertainment malls. Additionally, orders were accepted through social networks and messaging apps and then shipped via post across the entire territory of Ukraine.

During authorized searches at the jewelry retail locations, Bureau detectives seized counterfeit gold jewelry worth nearly 4.6 million UAH. Furthermore, they shut down the operations of the workshop where the suspects illegally manufactured jewelry bearing the logos of famous trademarks.

As noted by the Director of the ESBU, Oleksandr Tsyvinsky, on his Telegram channel, every legitimate business is built on years of work, investments, reputation, and customer trust.
"Counterfeiting negates all of this with a single stroke. Because it not only violates intellectual property rights but also creates unfair competition for those who work honestly, pay taxes, and are responsible for the quality of their products," emphasized the Director of the ESBU.
