Detectives of the Territorial Office of the ESBU in the Volyn region have completed a pre-trial investigation into a developer who evaded taxes on a significant scale. Over UAH 4.5 million has been paid to the state budget.
The pre-trial investigation established that the individual, acting intentionally, sold 105 unfinished construction projects located in the Volyn, Rivne, and Lviv regions for cash.
In official documents, he declared income only in the amounts specified in the sales contracts and paid taxes and fees based on those figures. At the same time, the funds actually received were not reflected in the tax reporting.
As a result of these actions, the developer concealed over UAH 22.6 million in income from the sale of unfinished construction projects, leading to a shortfall of more than UAH 4.5 million in taxes owed to the budget.
During the pre-trial investigation, the developer voluntarily reimbursed the unpaid tax obligations to the state budget in full. Additionally, he transferred UAH 240,000 for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
ESBU detectives notified the individual of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional tax evasion). The case has been forwarded to court with a motion to release the suspect from criminal liability due to the full restitution of the damages caused.
Procedural oversight in the criminal proceedings is carried out by the Volyn Regional Prosecutor's Office.
