Detectives of the Territorial Office of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine in the Poltava region have ensured the recovery of over UAH 18.9 million in damages to the local budget caused by the non-payment of land tax.
During the investigation, it was established that in 2018–2019, an official of an enterprise from the city of Dnipro, which specializes in the repair and maintenance of transport, failed to pay land tax in full.
To achieve this, the company intentionally used understated tax indicators and incorrect valuation of the land plot in its financial statements.
As a result of these actions, the state incurred damages totaling over UAH 18.9 million, which was confirmed by the conclusion of a forensic economic examination.
Following the intervention by ESBU detectives, the enterprise fully compensated for the damages caused to the state.
The official of the company has been notified of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional tax evasion on an especially large scale).
The criminal proceedings have been referred to the court with a motion for the individual's discharge from criminal liability.
Procedural guidance is being carried out by the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office.
