To improve the qualifications of ESBU analysts and detectives, constant work is being carried out to expand the network of contacts with the leading professional organizations and scientific institutions of the world.
The ESBU established cooperation with the European Union Agency for the Training of Law Enforcement Officers (CEPOL), and with the Center for Law Enforcement Authorities of South-Eastern Europe (SELEC) to increase the personnel potential of the ESBU.
In August 2022, ESBU asked the world's 30 leading higher education institutions with a strong scientific component from the ranking of the world's best higher education institutions in economics and business. Purpose: to establish contacts and jointly work out the ESBU initiative to put into practice scientific developments in analytics and economic forecasting.
On December 14, 2022, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the University of California, Berkeley, and the ESBU. The main provisions of the document include scientific and practical cooperation in the field of ESBU activities, training, and joint research.
On June 27, 2023, a meeting was held in a hybrid format with the participation of the ESBU leadership, Mariupol State University, and representatives of the University of Portsmouth, during which an online procedure for signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Portsmouth Higher Education Corporation and the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine took place. The Memorandum is aimed at exchanging experience in the field of combating economic crime. The ESBU detectives and analysts will be provided with access to international statistical, archival, and library data, as well as joint educational events and training.
From September 05 to 07, 2023, six employees of the ESBU took part in a seminar on "Financial Investigations" and "Investigation of Cryptocurrency Crimes" organized by the European Union Advisory Mission Ukraine (EUAM) at the Cryptocurrency Laboratory of Mariupol State University.
