Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Odesa region continue the investigation of the criminal proceedings regarding the organization of large-scale production of perfumery of well-known world brands. Products totaling more than UAH 9.2 million were seized and supply channels for production components were identified.

In the course of additional searches in a store where perfumes were sold and in warehouses in the suburbs of Odessa, detectives found about 4,000 boxes with bottles, dispensers, sprayers for the manufacture of counterfeit products worth more than UAH 8 million.

ESBU detectives also conducted a search of the "South Port" customs post and found almost 140,000 bottles for bottled perfumes for a total amount of over UAH 1.2 million.

It was established that the colorless glass bottles in the assortment were delivered to Ukraine from neighboring Poland. The recipient of the goods is an enterprise owned by the owner of a business that manufactures counterfeit perfume products. The organizers of the fake perfume production scheme are a group of people, which included natives of the Syrian Arab Republic.

Pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 229 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal use of a mark for goods and services, a company name, a qualified indication of the origin of goods by an organized group with the task of causing material damage in a particularly large amount) is carried out by detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in the Odesa Region under the procedural guidance of the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office and the operative support of the DSI of the National Police in Odesa region.
