Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Kyiv exposed a network of wholesale and retail trade in counterfeit excisable goods.

Counterfeit e-cigarettes, smoking liquids and hookah tobacco were sold for cash in retail outlets in Kyiv as well as through online stores with delivery to post offices.

Detectives of the ESBU conducted 8 searches at counterfeit sales outlets and storage warehouses. More than 3 thousand packs of hookah tobacco, 1500 thousand e-cigarettes, e-liquid, laptops, draft documents and cash were found and seized. The total value of the seized goods is almost UAH 2 million.

Investigative actions are under way, detectives are identifying all persons involved in the illegal network, especially its organizers. The origin of the counterfeit goods is also being established.

The pre-trial investigation under Part 2 Art. 204, Part 3 Art. 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being conducted by the detectives of the ESBU in Kyiv. Procedural supervision is provided by prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

Recently, detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Kyiv exposed people who illegally sold excisable tobacco products and seized more than 17 thousand packs of tobacco products.
