Detectives of the Territorial Department of the ESBU in Kyiv exposed individuals who illegally sold excisable goods.

The investigation identified a number of stores that sold cigarettes without excise stamps. As a result of searches of the retail premises more than 17 thousand packs of tobacco products were found and seized. The estimated value of the seized cigarettes is over UAH 1.2 million.

Investigative actions are underway to identify the persons involved in the illegal purchase, transportation and storage of tobacco products in order to bring them to justice in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine.

The pre-trial investigation under Part 2 Art. 204, Part 3 Art. 199 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being conducted by the detectives of the ESBU in Kyiv. Procedural supervision is provided by prosecutors of the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.
