Detectives of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine, based on the materials of the State Financial Monitoring Service of Ukraine, exposed a construction company in an attempt to embezzle budget funds during the construction of fortifications in the Kharkiv region.

The company has repeatedly won tenders held by one of the departments of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration. In total, the company received a contract for the construction of fortifications worth more than UAH 240 million.

It was established that the company transferred part of the funds, namely UAH 20.45 million, to the accounts of an individual entrepreneur who was registered in January 2024.

The person in question works as an administrator of a catering establishment, i.e. has no relation to construction. At the same time, after receiving the funds, she tried to transfer them to the company's account, which may be related to the activities of the so-called "conversion centers".

Currently, outgoing payments to the individual entrepreneur's accounts have been suspended. UAH 20.45 million has been blocked.

The ESBU detectives are taking further measures to prevent the embezzlement of budget funds allocated for the construction of fortifications in the Kharkiv region.
