The Director of the Economic Security Bureau of Ukraine Vadym Melnyk took part in a round table with the participation of representatives of business and government dedicated to the issue of the distribution of illegal tobacco products. The round table was organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine (ACC).

According to the Director of the ESBU, overcoming this problem is possible through close coordination with law enforcement agencies, tax and customs authorities, the NSDC and local authorities. At the same time, a constant dialogue with ‘white business’ is a key to harmonize the fiscal policy of the state and develop the necessary legislative amendments to overcome the spread of illegal products.

“In the current turmoil across the world markets, we must ensure the stability of government revenues. Destruction of the infrastructure for the distribution of illegal tobacco to increase contributions to the state treasury is our goal", - Vadym Melnyk said.
